The Human Resources Generalist ("HRG") works closely with the Controller and CFO and originates and leads HR practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment, retention and ongoing development of a superior workforce. Meticulous attention to detail, confidentiality and accuracy are vital to this position as it comprises a material amount of responsibility for employee health and wellness which directly impacts the Company’s financial health and success. The HRG will be responsible for expatriate management, recruitment efforts, new hire orientation and onboarding, employee corrective action and termination, payroll and benefits, company policy and procedure adherence under guidance of the CFO. The HRG should build strong relationships with the Company's managers in order to help them with their human resource needs.
In addition, the HRG will own the HR accounting operations of the Company together with the Controller and will need to ensure all HR related accounting is balanced and entered correctly into the ERP system. Accounting functions will, amongst other duties, include data entry; payroll capture and reconciliations; payroll and State tax compliance; production of month-end and payroll reports; accuracy in reporting and comprehensive controls compliance.
Responsibilities and working experience needed in HR:
- Full-cycle of recruitment experience with technical position or engineers.
- Manages expatriate assignments and international relocations. Manage the L1, H1 and TN visa and visa transfer process. Facilitate new hires and law firm in preparing visa applications.
- Own the HR function in all respects.
- Develop and oversee new hire orientation, on-boarding efforts and employee termination process.
- Manage semi-monthly payroll compilation, processing and reporting.
- Manage overtime review and preparation for payroll entry.
- Writes/updates and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and legal Responsibilities.
- Benefits administration from the company perspective, such as negotiating annual insurance rates with providers and experience with disability insurances (STD, LTD, AD&D, etc.).
- Manage multiple State employee withholding and unemployment tax relationships including opening, closing, reporting. California included.
- Accounting entry, reconciliation and budgeting of HR function.
Responsibilities and working experience needed in Accounting:
- Accounting processes, including payroll billing, expenditure and assisting with monthly close processes and reconciliations. Ensure that results are complete and accurate. Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management. Reconciliation and maintenance of sub-ledgers. Assist in the maintenance of general ledger accounts, cost centers and reports. Provide support to internal and external auditors and examiners.
- Comply with local, state and federal government reporting requirements, include new state set-up and annual compliance.
- Generating routine balance reports and assisting in the preparation of special reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Human Resources, or related area.
- 5+ years of experience working in Human Resources with Accounting.
- Preferably have employee immigration and US work-visa experience.
- Must have SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work after hours, overtime if necessary, as need to accomplish corporate goals.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Possess a US driver’s license and own reliable transportation.
- Valid US work authorization mandatory.
- Less than 25% travel requirement.
- Understanding that a 10-hour day may be the norm.
