WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

DCC is currently seeking an exempt, full-time and experienced Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Assistant Manager at the Oakland Airport Connector System in Oakland, CA.

The Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Assistant Manager is a primarily administrative position with some technical support responsibilities. The assistant O&M Manager reports to the O&M Manager and supports the management of the onsite management, technical and operations team.

One of DCC’s O&M contracts is with the Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) in Oakland, California. In Oakland, we have a 20-year operations and maintenance agreement with BART to operate and maintain the Oakland Airport Connector (OAC) System. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads various aspects of the Company safety program and evaluates, establishes, audits and enforces safety policies.
  • Supports the development and maintenance of the Competency Management System
  • Provides training and evaluation of staff on various safety, operational and maintenance related aspects of the System.
  • Participates in meetings with the Client and External Agencies.
  • Leads development of operational processes and planned events including readiness drills.
  • Supports scheduling of all operations and maintenance tasks and related activities.
  • Supports subcontractor’s work onsite.
  • Supports various aspects of Human Resources processes (hiring, evaluation, disciplinary, etc.)
  • Supports budgeting process.
  • Supports communications with and reporting to the Client.
  • Participates in meetings with the Client and External Agencies.
  • Supports operations, maintenance and troubleshooting of the System as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred 3 years of project or related management experience with operations, maintenance, safety, and/or quality assurance oversight of transit systems or in a similar field.
  • Experience with and working knowledge of the principles and practices of transit system operations and maintenance management, development and administration.
  • Experience with and working knowledge of the principles and practices of supervision, training and performance evaluation.
  • Experience with and working knowledge of the principles and practices of planning and management work with other managerial staff and lower level staff.
  • Experience with transit, industrial or construction safety programs or possession of OSHA 30 training.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to plan, administer and evaluate operations, maintenance and safety programs.
  • Ability to organize and plan work and delegate authority and responsibility within the team.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for maintenance methods and procedures, identifying resources and needs.
  • Ability to monitor and enforce safety rules, regulations and standards.
  • Ability to efficiently read, understand and follow procedures outlined in O&M Manuals and engineering drawings.
  • Ability to adopt a “hands-on” approach to solve mechanical / electrical problems.
  • Ability to preparing clear and concise reports, logs and records.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English.
  • Computer literate and proficient.
  • In possession of a valid driver’s license.
